We are delighted to announce the launch of a new Veterans Café at Hutton Manor Care Home, beginning on Saturday 7 March 2026 and taking place on the first Saturday of every month.
The Veterans Café is an initiative by Hutton Manor Care Home, developed in partnership with our Royal British Legion Pudsey & Farsley Branch. Over recent months, we have worked closely with the team at Hutton Manor to help shape the idea, share experience from previous community events, and support the launch of what we hope will become a valued and well attended monthly gathering.
Our branch has already built a strong relationship with Hutton Manor through previous coffee mornings held at the care home. Those mornings showed just how important it is to create informal, welcoming spaces where veterans can sit down with a brew, share stories, and enjoy the camaraderie that comes so naturally from shared service.
Hutton Manor Care Home is proud to be recognised as a Veteran Friendly care home under the national Veteran Friendly Framework. This reflects their commitment to understanding the experiences of those who have served and ensuring that veterans feel respected, valued and supported within their community.
The aim of the Veterans Café is simple – to provide a relaxed and friendly space for veterans and members of the Armed Forces community to come together. There will be free tea, coffee and refreshments, along with plenty of opportunity for conversation and companionship.
Branch members will be in attendance at each session. It is an opportunity not only to enjoy a social morning, but also to meet local Royal British Legion volunteers, find out more about the support available, or simply have a chat with people who understand.
